tags
We spent the last few weeks creating a bit of order out of our tag universe and we want your feedback. A lot of you guys entered tags that I had no idea what they were about – let’s just say I had to wikipedia quite a bit!
So below are Tier 1 and Tier 2 of tag categories, with Tier 1 being the most general of tag categories and Tier 2 being a first order category of the tag. All valid tags have a Tier 1 category and almost all tags have a Tier 2 category. If you click on any of the Tier 2 categories you can see our Tier 3 categories.
The categories come into play in two areas – the tag generator and search results. When you enter a keyword into the tag generator it will pull back all the other keywords at the Tier 2 level. More important, the tiers are reflected in the “related tags” section on the right-hand side of search results. This allows students to expand or refine their searches based on the tiers.
We want to have the most logical, easy to use tier system so that tutors can easily select keywords and students can easily refine their searches. In that spirit, please give feedback and let us know if we have tags in the wrong category, if our tiers do not make sense or if we need additional categories! Send your comments to reinspruch@ziizoo.com or post them on this page. When making a comment, please explain your logic so other members of the community can comment.
Also, please note that tags can not formally exist in more than one category, but for the purposes of search our Google Mini Search Appliance does allow us to create relationships. But that is a post for another day!
