04/09/2007 email

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Dear Tutor,

Once again thank you for your interest in ziizoo.com! Excitement is in the air as we approach the launch of ziizoo alpha. We anticipate launching the alpha site on Monday, April 30th - three weeks from today. On that day you will receive an email from us explaining how to formally register with the site and use the various features.

Because ziizoo is first and foremost a community, we welcome and encourage feedback from community members. We are looking to our members to help set the course for the marketplace, starting with helping us select a logo. Below is a link to four potential logos. If you have a moment, please check them out and let us know what you think!

second iteration of ziizoo tutor code of conduct

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

A special thanks to all the tutors that commented on the first version of the code of conduct. I took several of the comments into account when crafting this second version. Again, we are open to suggestions.

Thanks.

Robert

1) ziizoo values learning: ziizoo tutors are committed to teaching pupils and honoring their best work, without doing it for them.

2) ziizoo is for everyone: ziizoo tutors treat every student equally, regardless of race, gender, nationality, economic background, etc.

3) ziizoo values honesty: ziizoo tutors are committed to posting truthful information about their age, academic credentials, work history, abilities, etc.

4) ziizoo values privacy: ziizoo tutors will not ask for or share personal information, particularly anything of embarrassing, explicit or private content.

5) ziizoo is about safety: ziizoo tutors are committed to the safety of their pupils and will never suggest or arrange offline meetings.

ziizoo tutor code of conduct

Monday, April 16th, 2007

ziizoo is first and foremost a community, and as such it needs an informal code of conduct that governs the way users interact with each other on the site. Each point below relates to either integrity (e.g., no cheating, no lying) or safety (e.g., no offline meetings, no sharing personal information). These are the two themes most important to us. Please let us know if you think we have missed something or have gone too far.

Thanks!

Robert & Egon

  1. ziizoo is for learning, not for cheating: teach your pupils but do not do their work for them.
  2. ziizoo is for everyone: do not discriminate who you tutor.
  3. ziizoo is about honesty: do not post misleading information about your age, academic credentials, work history, abilities or any other information about yourself.
  4. ziizoo is about privacy: do not ask for or share personal or pupil information, particularly anything of embarrassing, explicit or private content.
  5. ziizoo is about safety: never use inappropriate language during an online tutoring session and never suggest, arrange, or accept requests for offline meetings with students.
