too much communication or too little?

May 7th, 2007 by Robert Einspruch

We are big fans of regularly communicating to the customer base via email or the blog. But we also understand that some people are not as fond of hearing from us so often. So we would like to get a sense from you, our customers, how often you would like to hear from us during the “alpha” and “beta” (later this summer) stages of the marketplace. Also, do you prefer email or a message in the “message center” on the “overview” tab of “my account” section of the site? Let us know!

  1. Angeline Says:

I think that especially since the website is in its “alpha” and “beta” phases, frequent communication is vital. As for the placement of said messages, a tab would be excellent, particularly because the “my account” section is the first thing that people see once signed in.

  2. David Craft Says:

There is no such thing as too much communication or information. In fact, I need more. I cannot access the area that lets me practice with the whiteboard and when I go to my account I cannot list anything under credentials–which is essential for me to “entice” a student. I click on credentials and all I get is a page that says “education” but I am not able to get a response when I click.

I also believe that there is no such thing as too much communication. For those that do there is always the delete button! Thanks for your great work. I prefer email as I do not frequently check your site and would miss out on important information and status reports. Also, thank you so much for your explanation on the meaning of your business name! Very interesting.

  4. Jason Says:

I have no problem receiving updates, as Angeline pointed out this is the time to keep the communication open. Email is a good way for me to get my information. Thanks

  5. Bill Rawles Says:

I would like to play around with the whiteboard. I cannot find it in order to do that.

To Bill’s point above, any one of us at ziizoo is happty to do a practice session if you like, or you can check out the instructions on our blog (http://blog.ziizoo.com/how-to-use-the-site/find-a-tutor/step-2-initiate-a-tutoring-session). But you need to be in an active session to use the whiteboard.

I prefer to hear from you guys via email. I do not mind hearing changes, updates, news, answers to others’ questions, etc. - whenever. Thanks.

  8. Amy Tecosky Says:

I am not quite sure as to how I am to log-on to receive students.

  9. Linda Lichtenstein Says:

Hello. I was wondering how long the session is? Do the sessions have to be an hour long? If someone comes in for 1/2 hour, how are they billed?
What about 45 minutes? Please let me know!

  10. Robert Einspruch Says:

Sessions are billed by the minute at the tutor’s hourly rate - so if the tutor charges $60/hr the student would be charged $1/minute.
