While the broadly defined subjects are related in principle, I think that tutors in one specialized field are ill-equipped to teach other fields. As an economist, I would be useless as a tutor for a student in Asian history or in child psychology. This is particularly important as it impacts the search mechanism - a quick search for "economics" brings up 147 tutors, many of whom do not tutor in economics. If I were a student looking for a tutor, I would become frustrated very quickly at the need to open each individual profile to see if my subject was listed.
